Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager with a strong background in Tax to join our client's team in Richmond Hill. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both audit and tax services, along with a proven track record of managing client relationships and projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage audit and review engagements for both for-profit and not-for-profit clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with professional standards.

Supervise and complete tax-related tasks, including preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns, GST/HST filings, and other related documents.

Manage compilation engagements, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and tax filings.

Oversee the preparation of payroll-related documents, including T4 and T5 filings, and ensure compliance with government remittances.

Act as the main point of contact with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on behalf of clients for tax-related matters.

Lead client meetings, build and maintain strong client relationships, and ensure high-quality service is delivered to meet client needs.

Review and analyze work papers, financial statements, and tax returns to ensure compliance with Canadian accounting and tax standards.

Mentor and guide junior staff by providing training, feedback, and development opportunities related to audit and tax functions.

Utilize accounting software to efficiently manage tasks and engagements.

Identify and recommend process improvements within the audit and tax functions.

Oversee project timelines and budgets, ensuring successful and timely completion of engagements.

Keep up-to-date with industry trends, tax regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in a public accounting firm, with a focus on both audit and tax services.

Extensive experience in managing and completing audit and review engagements for a variety of clients.

Proficiency in preparing personal and corporate tax returns, GST/HST filings, and payroll remittances.

Expertise in accounting and tax software.

Strong knowledge of Canadian tax and accounting regulations.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

A valid CPA designation (or progress towards certification) is required.
