Job Description

Employezz is seeking a Financial Controller - Bilingual to support the Finance Director in managing the company's financial operations in Montreal. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and validate daily financial transactions, make monthly journal entries, and correct any necessary adjustments.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely payments are tracked.
  • Prepare and review interim financial statements.
  • Supervise a team of four accounting technicians, monitoring their performance, managing their daily tasks, supporting their professional development, and implementing measures to optimize the efficiency and quality of accounting operations.
  • Assist accounting technicians in troubleshooting and verifying the accuracy of financial documents.
  • Supervise bank reconciliations and ensure their accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing files for the annual audit and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Prepare and submit tax filings while ensuring compliance with regulatory deadlines.
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting data and regularly update financial records while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • CA or equivalent title.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities.
