Job Description

Synechron is seeking a skilled Big Data Engineer with strong expertise in Java to join our dynamic data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with large datasets and will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and architectures for our big data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data processing systems using big data technologies.
  • Develop high-quality code in Java to build data ingestion and processing frameworks.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.
  • Optimize existing data pipelines for performance and scalability.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data processing jobs to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
  • Work with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) to implement and manage big data solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to big data and Java.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in problem solving, OOP, data structures and algorithms.
  • 10+ years backend application development experience in Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
  • 5+ years in developing and optimizing Big Data applications using Java/Scala and Spark on Cloudera/HDP.
  • Experience in developing/designing micro-service architecture.
  • Proven hands-on experience in containerization - Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift etc.
  • Working knowledge of Jenkins CI, Git, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders - business and technical.
