Job Description

The Health Safety Environment Advisor will be responsible for ensuring the plant's compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as managing labor relations.

Responsibilities

  • Reports on health, safety, and environmental performance
  • Identifies, manages, and solves risks or concerns
  • Meets legislative requirements
  • Implements actions to protect and improve environmental standards
  • Identifies HSE training needs
  • Performs environment and waste management control
  • Oversees emergency response teams and committees
  • Effectively manages labour relations
  • Implements company labour strategies
  • Acts as management representative in contact with union officials
  • Prepares briefs for arbitration and labour litigation cases
  • Provides guidance to leaders on labour issues
  • Administers facility work rules
  • Analyses trends in labour relations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in HSE & Labour Relations in a manufacturing environment
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification
  • Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, and IATF 16494
