Job Description

Join AltaLink as a Senior Power System Engineer and be part of a team that powers Alberta with safe, reliable, and cost-effective electricity services. Work on transmission system planning, new business development, and support Alberta's energy transition to net-zero emissions.

Responsibilities

Deliver generation and load connection engineering studies and cost-effective solutions to connecting customers.
Provide system planning assessment for transmission reinforcement and CRU projects.
Deliver various facility studies for system and customer projects to optimize design and equipment selection.
Support transmission modeling and provide system capacity information.
Identify system and operational issues on AltaLink's transmission system.
Provide study support to new business development initiatives in the power industry.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Engineering.
Professional Engineer or qualifies for registration with APEGA.
Minimum 10 years of power system engineering experience on high voltage transmission systems.
Technical knowledge of transmission system modeling, operation, and planning.
Experience with power system analysis tools such as PSSE program and PSCAD/EMTDC.
