Job Description

Primrose Contracting, a heavy civil construction company based in Ontario, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and proficiency in construction estimating software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects using industry-standard software.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior estimators to gather necessary information.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best pricing.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and contracts.
  • Assist in monitoring the progression of work and attending project meetings.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in civil estimating, specifically in sewer, watermain, and underground utility construction.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of municipal construction standards and tendering processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
