Job Description

The Naurvik On-site Supervisor role at Arctic Research Foundation (ARF) involves overseeing operational activities at the Naurvik facility in Gjoa Haven, Nunavut. The position requires a hands-on approach to leadership, logistical support, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to on-site team
Monitor and assist with greenhouse tasks
Coordinate maintenance and repairs
Manage resources and inventory
Document system performance and safety incidents
Monitor energy consumption and crop growth
Respond to system failures and unexpected disruptions
Engage with community members and Elders

Qualifications

Proficiency in basic computer and communication software
Strong general maintenance skills
Ability to supervise and coordinate a team effectively
Organizational and time management skills
Experience working in Northern Inuit communities
Physical ability to lift and carry items up to 60 lbs
