Leon Cycle is seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to plan and set up the overall Finance & Accounting strategy of our company in North America. They will also ensure these processes are carried out effectively, efficiently and within established timelines with their team.
Plan, implement and oversee overall Finance & Accounting strategy for both US & Canada
Manage and take responsibility of all accounting operations including for accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, taxes, reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc
Direct the development of annual operating plans, departmental budgets, monthly/quarterly forecasts, cost reduction initiatives/recommendations and profitability analysis
Successfully complete monthly closing cycles to properly reflect the financial position of the company, profit & loss, capital base, cash from operations and operational metric reporting
Provide financial analysis support/guidance to all line managers and directors. Monitor the financial policies, practices and procedures of the operation
Ensure the necessary internal controls (and compensating controls) to safeguard the company's assets and adhere to management policies
Direct the activities and provide leadership to the finance & accounting team, ensuring all Leon Cycle values are inherent in daily performance of responsibilities
Adhere to proper Finance & Accounting methods, policies and principles
Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
Set up and implement SAP by design system within North America Finance & Accounting
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
Other special ad hoc projects as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA accreditation
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant leadership experience in a high growth company
Experience with setting up new processes and procedures or in a start up company preferred
Experience with reconciling and analyzing financial data
Experience in leading, coaching and mentoring team members preferred
High degree of accuracy, extremely detail oriented and ability to multitask
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and SAP by design required
Ability to work within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, and to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding on how to use Quickbooks and Shopify. Experience dealing with taxation and CRA is highly regarded.
